Lord, when you look down and view your earth,
Does seeing it, bring you tears or mirth.
Do you always guide us from our birth,
Are our lives to you, of any worth.
Lord, when you look down and see your flock,
Have we built values on sand or rock.
Are we always kind or do we mock,
Will your door be opened when we knock.
Lord, when you look down from your abode,
Will you find us, and your arms enfold.
Whether we're still young or whether old,
Finding in your peace our pot of gold.
Lord, when you look down, bless us each day,
In our daily tasks and in our play.
As we try hard not to go astray,
To follow your rules and to obey.
Lord, when you look down with your clear eyes,
Do you see violence, evil, lies,
Or goodness, when each human complies,
So that we'll be with you as life dies.
