Our World Poem by Walterrean Salley

Our World

Rating: 5.0

Our world has grown colder
Much colder than before.
The streets and the headlines
All seem to tell us so.

The cornerstone foundation
Is not as strong and steady.
When it seems we’ve arrived,
We find that we’re not ready.

The warmness and the love
That once lingered here
Peace, truth and harmony
Have all but disappeared.

The gentleness and kindness
Toward one’s fellowman—
If we strive together—
Can we regain?

Ah, there is still some hope;
Oh, teach us Lord to cope.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The headlines are more grusome than good. There is so much happening to our world. It could make the merry heart faint.

Very sad but true, we need to regain that gentleness and kindness which seems to have been lost. Excellently write.

Truthfully disturbing..Can we, will we ever get it back together? I am so fearful for our later generations. You so clearly have shown how we have erred. Profoundly importent thoughts throughout this poem

Watching everyday happenings in the world, a sensitive soul is likely to be pained and is sure to wonder where we are heading to! Dismal is the whole picture around us. As you feel, instead of cursing the darkness, let us light a candle! Though sounds an old cliche, still it holds good! ! A thoughtful write! !

No one can stay unaffected by this day to day coldness of the world which is getting more n more devoid of the warmth of virtues and goodness...! ! !
