Everything as usual
Nothing so notable
All around the world
Life moving on
Every nation
Carrying out their
Day to Day activities
When all of a sudden
Just a week before Christmas-
Shocking deaths
Reported in China
In the city of Wuhen-
The pandemic
Starting from the particular city
Said to be acquired
By a shrimp selling lady
In the wet market
Of the same city-
Within weeks into months
Multiplying in numbers
In fact to say
Exponential in growth-
The virus
Spreading from place to place
Country to country
Continent to continent-
Struggling specialists
Want of medicine
Treating ailers
Casualties in the country
Shooting up everyday-
When no one expected
Italy joined hands
Within a couple months
People dying in groups
Crying officials
Inconsolable sufferers
Struggling government
Unable to control the pandemic
Coffins for corpses
No more available
Weeping Italy
Losing it's charm and people too-
So swift the virus
Targeting Europe
Stunned Americans
Uncontrollable deficits
Losing London
Succumbing Spaniards
Suffering Germany
Agonising Israel
Freezing France-
South Korea and Japan
Using technology
Controlling death loss
Quite intelligently
Stringent approach
Disciplined tests
Curbing the spread
Setting examples-
Not enough-
Indians too
Halting at stage two
Government fighting
Along with every state
Enforcing lockdown
Upto twenty one days-
To be more
Health care workers
Medical professionals
Tireless leaders-
Desperate measures
Requesting people
Remain in quarantine
Not to come out
Of their homes-
So much to say
Painful to digest
Human community
Suffering by and large-
Wrath of God?
Who knows?
All we can do
We take a pledge
Protect us all
We are your children
Have mercy upon us..
We change our intentions-
We show our humanity
We help our fellows
Give us another chance
Give us life
Let peace prevail
