Parking Pass Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Parking Pass

Rating: 5.0

From your eyes
Even down to the way you walk.
I've parked my heart in between
The lines & sat in the car.
I fear that if I move
Someone will come
& take my spot.
No matter
if I park at the meter
Or a different spot.
Even by the curb on the street.
You issued me a parking pass
straight from the heart
& I refuse to let it
Go to waste.
From your eyes
Even down to the way you walk.
Its a different feeling than public
Transportation;
The urgency of a place to belong.
The liberation of being that close to you.
Similarly,
Without fear to find a dent in my heart
But even more,
To not have a spot closest to
Your heart
