Peace Of Mind Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Peace Of Mind

Peace of mind to acquire it,
Is something felt more than displayed.
And indescribable to define or explain.
Although often wished,
Many are not looking for it when it comes.
Arriving how it does to happen.
Yet...the very moment it occurs,
It is as if nothing can prevent the event.
A releasing from traps strapped to one's back,
Is lifted to find all B.S. gone to prioritize.

And what remains to realize is life to live.
Freed from needless aggravation.
The kind one had before to believe,
It was a necessity and could not live without!
To ultimately discover,
The last of lies told to leave alone.
Left done to do,
With no one to accept, refuse...
Or give their approval to await for it,
To come and be done.

Peace of mind to have?
Ain't nothing like it.
Remaining peaceful,
Bestows its own reward to know it achieved.
