Peaceful Waters Poem by David Harris

Peaceful Waters

Rating: 5.0

The river of life runs long and narrow
with twists and turns here and there.
Sometimes it hits rapids,
sometimes it hit’s a falls,
but the majority of the time it sticks
in peaceful waters where you can rest a while.
There will always be turbulence
when a storm suddenly breaks.
Dark clouds will cover the horizon
and it will send the river on a rough ride.
As soon as the squall has passed,
it will drift again,
to where peaceful waters lay.

Very true. The occasional rougher water make the peaceful time so much better. Thanks for a great read.

I used to love to ride the lazy river on a innertube on a hot summers day...so quiet and peaceful...the cool water and moving in and out of the shade of the trees into the warm sun as you float down the river...I love your metaphor here...took me to that peaceful place in life where everyone likes to be...not the rapids or the falls thanks for sharing this one David
