--------------------------------------------------------
Two minor sons thrashed
their addicted mother
to death in our city,
a minor boy in Keonjhar district
Killed his father
with a steel rod and hatchet,
what a pity!
Mother and sister were axed
by a young man,
a husband snatched his
one month son
from his mother's lap,
killed the baby,
threw him into bushes in
Bhadrak town.
Suicide, theft, robbery,
divorce, marital discords
broken homes, road accidents,
are some of the worst crimes
that cause much embarrassment.
Myriads of dastardly actions
and heinous crimes
happen daily in this world.
Uncomputable loss of life
and property take place
due to those contrabands.
But Alas! our Government
does not enact any stringent rules and
regulations to prohibit and ban,
Increasing excise revenue being
the main point of attraction.
We speak high of Mahatma Gandhi,
commemorate his centenary in words.
Never realize his dream of
forming a truthful, nonviolent state
that were his buzzwords.
The misfortune I mentioned above
is only a drop from the ocean.
Let us rise above,
bypass all our motives
and personal prejudices,
to lessen and uproot
the menace of
drugs and alcohols
with a strong will power
and dedication.

I concur with the comment of RM. Education is the answer and stricter measures from the government to prevent this menace as enunciated in this great poem.
Addiction is like a quicksand that pulls you to the lowest bottom. This wonderful poem brilliantly illustrates and depicts this premise.

I would like to translate this poem
I agree with RM it's education and love of oneself
