Protestation. Poem by Fay Slimm

Protestation.

Rating: 5.0

Now deaf from bad memory's fearful sounds,
Unyielding nightmares mean pressure abounds.
Re-living, over and over again.
What has awful warfare done to our men?

Inner respect has been taken away.
Now facing their battles from day to day.
Blinded from peace by the horrors of war.
What have these brave veterans been fighting for?

Fay, you pose a very good question there, what are they fighting and dying for. It does make you wonder sometimes. Top marks and thanks for sharing this with us my friend. Hugs David

Men and woman are sent to war albeit! that's what they signed up for they little know the pain they'll face, killing a member of the human race a blown off a limb, or left to die, a body bag, as mothers cry life will never be the same, Its politicians that's to blame

What exactly - sad to see so many in the bloom of life plucked away like flowers on their wreaths - 10
