Refugees, They Are Still, no One Sees Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Refugees, They Are Still, no One Sees

Rating: 5.0

refugees
they are still
no one sees

Each year, each month or week
the refugee's future is far to seek
do you know that they must put off their shoes
further land in sans shoes? !

which country,
which border,
which police order? !
where in Europe? !

it occurred during the grow of the tulip

open your eyes,
shut your mouths,
write endlessly
till they get shelter fearlessly

It be icy winter or summer's heat
they all must march together
to the nearest border
all barrefooted

who are going to walk in their shoes? !

they are not sure of their future
who is going to nurture
in some rapid minutes
they all lost their kin

one thing you must be sure
walk, pray and seek
something hidden
something meek

then you'll find your future's creek,
but never new shoes or a better future!

let's say 2000 here,
left behind drowned in the sea
hundred times more,

refugees
they are still
no one sees

Refugees exist in every corner of the world. No one sees them and feel. This gives us immense pain and emotion flows. This poem provokes thought. An excellent poem is well penned.

True Sylvia. No one can really know what refugees go through. The horror, terror and what not. But still they always have to come up. Thank-you for penning this.

Cont...Powerful and rich countries must extend their hands to the refugees. A great poem that vividly depicts the actual hardships and unbearable condition of all refugees.

A powerful and perceptive poem. War, hate and greed create refugees. Those who are innocents are often dragged into this problem. We are all brothers and sisters. We must extend support to our unfortunate brothers.
