Remember - Poem by melanie s. jones

So it goes.
Though it seems as if things stand still-
Nothing remains the way it is now
Memory will always make things look prettier,
or uglier, never the same

keep me in the part of you
where you keep safe your secret dreams
where it smells like roses and it rains angel feathers
where fairies used to live before the noise drove them away

you left and will never come back
i know now
I understand
But never forget
I was there for you
And you were there for me
We were found if only for awhile

  • (3/10/2007 8:59:00 PM) work of beauty we find our own connection. This poem reminds me of two people that I have lost through death that are always just a breath away and they have been gone for many years. (Report) Reply

    a lovely tale
    where memory
    calls to the present
    with fonness and love
for a time no longer there
    a wonderful poem
    keep up the good work
