We are now miles from each other,
but I am still beside you.
We both watch our sunsets at different times.
You can still see that constellation at night,
can't you?
The one that I always said was placed in the sky
just for me.
I know that home is far away from me,
but that my friends are always close.
I know that you and I lead different lives now,
but we always have the memories
of being together.
Remember my mother's song?
The one she'd sing to us with
me on one knee and you on the other.
I don't remember every word.
Not anymore.
I remember she'd sing about
how she loved birds when they sing,
and flowers in the spring.
And I know that, if you were here,
you'd finish the song for me
and we'd both smile and
remember the way it used to be.
To my 'sister' Mia
