In a rainy night when there is dark outside
Fireflies like little fairies decorate bushes and trees.
They glow and give small twinkling light
As small children it was such a fun and delight
to run through the field of fire flies
We used to catch them in our hands
And enjoyed as if we were holding little lamps.
Once we brought some fireflies to our home
But mother asked us to release them
Because they will miss their natural home.
But as small children we wanted to see
how the little fairies look in the day's light
We kept them in a match box and hid it
Next day we eagerly opened the match box
Alas! There we found no fairy and no light
Only small insects crawling sadly inside
Where did the fairies go ', we asked our mother
Mother said they are separated from their home
They are sad and lost their light
So be quick to release them
After uniting with their families
They will glow again to your delight.

A beautiful and wonderful story with a great message to humanity. Brilliantly crafted.
A tender, vibrant, and relational piece! It tells the tragic tale of many insects captured by curious children! Well written! Thank you for sharing!

What a wonderful poem! A great message to eager little children--I always felt so bad for those little faries that other children would catch and keep in jars until the little faries died—lovely piece!
