The clock went back
my mood went south
the smile on my face
turned upside down
my shoulders caved in
and rounded my spine
with head on my knees
I feel like crying.
It's dark in the mornings
and afternoons too
there's not much daylight
around to amuse
the weight of the world
is heavy to carry
no will in my world
can ease me of burden.

'The clock went back my mood went south the smile on my face turned upside down my shoulders caved in and rounded my spine' loved this line 'The clock went back /my mood went south' and the clever 'the smile on my face /turned upside down' and the brilliant final stanza was superb, only problem was, I was sorry you were sad.
I've had this mood today before I read your comments earlier and also read your magnificent Jealousy poem. Hopefully the comments of your friends below will bring a bit of summer light into your life!
Lack of light and short days of winter have a way of effecting our mood. Bright side is that you are talented enough to recognize and express it in a lovely poem.
Nice poem on a not so nice condition. Shorter days always seems to make things look worse for us melancholy souls.
an entertaining and educational poem indeed! turn on the lights! eat chocolate, BUT put on your tights............ and go to the gym to keep from being too-far-from-slim! i've used this kindly-offered poem in Section B of my/our November showcase for PH poets, found in my PH site. i think this is one poem which profits from avoiding rhyming. nicely done! to MyPoemList. favorite lines: The clock went back my mood went south the smile on my face turned upside down bri :)
