Say It To Mean Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Say It To Mean

Say it to mean it then leave.
Let it be rated or berated to escalate,
Into an interpretation...
That instigates someone who chooses,
A headache not yours to take.

Eliminate the nonsense.

Avoid being chased,
For explanations to make.

Say it to mean it than leave.
Let others create,
What was said not to hear,
From your mouth to come out.
Be about the truth to know what it is.

Since the ones unfamiliar,
With honesty heard to accept...
Will always be offended to expect,
Someone beating around the bush.
To allow truth kept disrespected!

Say it to mean it and leave.
Keep your dignity identified.
And be yourself.
This to do,
Should be an easy decision.
Over attempting to impress,
Those choosing to argue...
Their pettiness to address.
