Scarlett O'hara, Lover Of My Dreams Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

Scarlett O'hara, Lover Of My Dreams

Rating: 5.0

Scarlett O'Hara
Was the lover of my dreams
After I read the novel
'Gone with the wind'.
She had the face
Of my classmate
To whom I dared not
To open my heart.

That was until
I watched the movie,
When Vivien Leigh gave her
A face and elegance
And a pair of sensuous eyes.

Hi Unni, Wow! Scarlet O'Hara, the lover of your dreams with a resemblance to your childhood sweetheart- that i think is a piece of lovely poetry. Undoubtedy, Vivien Leigh who played the role of scarlet was a very beautiful lady. However, I agree with Susan that she was an awful character. Gone with the Wind is an all time classic. i have seen the movie many times. Thank you for this nice poem......10

Scarlet O'Hara- - You captured her appeal to you very nicely in this piece! I have seen this movie several times and I don't really know why.. Her character is so repellent to me and not much improved by the end of the movie- but she really was lovely when her mouth was shut.[ Having a little fun at Scarlet's expense- - but you captured your delight in her very very nicely- -especially her eyes! ! ! ] 10! ! ! !

It's a pity i haven't read this novel, nor have i seen the movie but i absolutely love your poem. Sometimes a fictional character can mean a lot to us, like Darcy from Pride n Prejudice did for a lot of ladies. And the wonderful thing is that every character we come across in fiction has a living replica around us.

Part 2 Immediately after its publishing, a movie was made based on the novel. Released in 1939, if I remember right. Vivien Leigh played O’Hara, while Clark Gable, her husband Rhett Butler, a soldier. Leslie Howard played the role of lover Ashley. Something worth watching even today. I had watched it first, when in the college, during seventies. And then, whenever I had an opportunity. And Leigh was so beautiful in the movie, I would love to watch even now.
