Self Discovery - Poem by Vincent LeVine

I was young when I went off
to find myself, without you
to find myself

What I found was a boy
without love, all alone
all by himself

It was too late to turn back
I believe, and if I could've
you know I would've

Just what I learned was to love
people back, the ones who care
the ones who share

When I drive by our old home
I could cry, times we've had
the things we've shared

And in the end nothing's found
that wasn't already there
down deep inside
there was Love...

I found Myself.

Thanks Mahtab! For a lot of us there is only one search- truth of self. Find it and you are truly rich!

My first time reading something by you, Vincent. I like the simplicity of this and the flow and visual shape. And you affirmed in love what is most important of all. I’m interested to read other poems by you. -GK (Report)Reply

This poem, although put in this category, should be regarded as the begining of your poetic journey. In truth, it is far from the standard one would expect. I rated it three. (Report)Reply

As a senior poet on this site you should be ashamed with this stupid comment. Just chasing points is pointless.
