Slumber's Sweet Surrender Poem by Patricia Gale

Slumber's Sweet Surrender

Rating: 5.0

Here it is again
The time I try not to imagine
What it would be like to be in your arms
To feel your breath caress my cheek
To hear my heart spell out your name

Resting my head on my pillow
Holding the empty casing of feather down close
An infant position, curled up
Waiting for sleep to dream me into your arms

In slumber’s sweet surrender we are united
Heaven comes with the gentle fall of my eyes
Paradise captured in night’s vision
My love, my dream world all before me
