Small Town Ways Poem by Rebecca Navarre

Small Town Ways

Rating: 5.0

God, how I miss the simpler
days, and the small town ways.
Small grocery stores, and the
corner bakery. Where you could
sit and have a piece of pie, and
a cup of coffee, and everyone is
oh, so friendly. Christmas values,
with a Christmas spirit, that seemed
to last the whole year through. Christmas
eve mass and carolers too. Though so much
has changed I'd still like to say, Merry
Christmas to you! ..

A very touching poem that resonates. How we wished we could turn back the hands of time.

Nice poem, Rebecca. I'll bet my town was smaller than yours. Two stop signs, no traffic lights, only one paved road. A two-room school, grades 1-3 in one room and grades 4-6 in the other. One tiny store with one gas pump. No restaurants. Merry Christmas!
