Song of the Sage
I've been to New York City
and London, and to Rome.
I've been to Buenos Aires,
but desert is my home.
I need no supermarket;
just need a little store
with food and bottled water;
can't ask for any more.
Don't need to play my I-Pod,
just hear that coyote howl!
Listen to the nightingale,
and singing of the owl.
Give me the sagebrush prairie;
I'll live there on the plains
among the lizards and the quail
where it so seldom rains.
I've lived in some big cities,
but need a LITTLE town.
NO town is even better;
the plains won't let me down.

Why do I tell you that here, and not in the poet's notes?
Because the new version of Poem Hunter
messes up the poet's notes
and runs everything together.
Yes if we all think the same way life will be beautiful and enjoyable. We are chasing a mirage called 'Concrete Jungle'.
Superb! I absolutely love the picture, as well as the poem. Wish I was there, right now, and forevermore
A wonderful poem. Five stars and to my favorites list. I dislike the large cities also!
We don't need to be in a highly urbanized and beautiful place to have a meaningful and wonderful life. A great poem so well conveyed . To my Poem List.

Lovely sweet poem calling for a life with minimum of amenities but in the proximity of nature for whatever it may bring.
