Sonnet 39: My Love Reminds Me Of A Summers Breeze Poem by David Wood

Sonnet 39: My Love Reminds Me Of A Summers Breeze

Rating: 4.9

My love reminds me of a summer’s breeze
That wafts gently through a wildflower meadow
That rustles the leaves on golden beech trees
And your love keeps me in your cool shadow.
When other lovers drift apart with ease
Our love grows stronger with each passing day
And in the pleasures of the night we tease
Keeps our two kind hearts from going astray.
This love must not be allowed to tire
And Cupid must not be allowed to rest
Or love will end on a funeral pyre
Time will only judge in loves supreme test.
Loves sweet power is tested every day
In life’s interactions and when we play.
