Southpaw Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Southpaw

Rating: 4.5

Although not
Left-handed
Remember
Days of old
Such classmates
Were so bold
Always sold
To devil
Catholic nuns
In their damn rage
Storms of fury
Such damn abuse
Of innocent
Crying children
Flaunting their God's
Imagined will

Devil laughing in that sad day
Jesus without much of a say
Forgave the nuns and the devil
God smiled welcoming them Home

And to be lefhanded is to be sinister. This reminds me of Kerouac and the 'lefhanded' compliments of some critics. I remember reading some time ago that he despised them. A great verse, Richard.

He did indeed despise them! M.J. thank you so much for believing it to be a great verse.

I am shocked, difficult for me to believe, but if it's a truth, you are bold enough to write a poem on child abuse.

Akhtar, I was eyewitness to this! The least that I can do is to write some poetry about it. I find it therapeutic.

Child abuse is so sad and this is thought provoking. Obeying Christ's wisdom is good for life. God smiles welcoming all of us. An amazing poem is shared...10

Kumarmani, child abuse is tragic! And to have it administered by those serving God is appalling!
