A glance
At everything
What, Does it mean?
The Money, Is nothing
It's the things
That we have seen
How have we dealt
With each step
Of each day
Have I handled things right?
Or the absolute wrong way?
I now see
I don't care
For the falseness of living
Humans are a race
A face of believing
Believing life is
A material gift
This upsets the calm
Its a destroying rift
It's not till you age
You've closed so many a door
You look back
And see
Just what was this for?
I am now the calm
I can't change the time
I can't change the pain
I can change what it takes
To Stand in the rain

Insightful and confronting. At least standing in the rain causes no pain.
Excellent write my friend. I like the flow, the rhythm... and the rhyme. It is also deeply insightful.
I can't change the time I can't change the pain I can change what it takes To Stand in the rain....outstanding conceptualization. Time can't be changed, but resolve can be changed. A great philosophical poem on life and death has been astutely delineated. Thank you dear madam for sharing this gem.10
I can't change the time I can't change the pain I can change what it takes To Stand in the rain- - - - - - excellent closing lines for a brilliant introspective poem 10+++++++
What matters most? The things we've seen... Beautifully conveyed in the delightful poem.
The last four lines are so inspiring! A beautiful poem, just like the flower that comes after it.

Very nice poem, Lyn. I like the second stanza best.
