Strung Along Poem by Practicing Poetess

Strung Along

Rating: 5.0

I once had a man,
Nearly drove me out of my mind!
He'd keep me waiting
While away for him, I pined.
How he'd string me along,
I was completely blind
I would wait in vain
Some happiness to find
Was he only a loner?
Or, selfish and unkind?
Of his true feelings for me,
I kept looking for a sign.
Now I'm trying sincerely
To leave the past behind.
To erase the memories,
And break the ties that bind.

Sometimes you just have to move on, when you see that you'll be waiting forever. Forever is a long, long time. Thank you for commenting, Mahtab!
