Suicide Note - Poem by Mike Coulter

Suicide Note by micah coulter

utter hoplessness and desire
along for lust of my empire
of this mortal body's shame
of what i see, ill see again.

these days are cruel and such a pain
my mind is a wet sprocket
and all i hold within my heart
but it too is the size of a locket.

the clouds of storm are all about
the rain is falling again
the 45 is on the table
and my dignity in my hands

is there life oh, after death?
of that is yet unseen.
as life is useless just as i
and it goes by like a dream.

this flesh upon this empty shell
this flesh looks just as me
but the reflection of this shell
is something i cannot be.

i dont know why i think at all
or why i break down and cry
i dont really care about you love.
i want to say goodbye.

but i cant bring myself upon
the urge to pull the trigger
i wish i may i wish i might
but my balls dont get no bigger.

and so ill try yet once again
to be this man im not
so if i ever commit suicide
youll have a humble thought.
