Sycamore Seeds Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

Sycamore Seeds

Rating: 5.0

The sycamore seeds through the air gently falling
And winding in circles then rest on the ground,
This October morning so still and so peaceful
While hues of the autumn are cast all around.

The golden leaves blend with the scarlet and amber
Together they're mixed in a palette so fine,
I look to the skies that are blue as a sapphire
And framed in a picture where colours entwine.

The sunlight is shining and warming the morning
The frost of the dawn slowly fading away,
With songs of the sparrows that roost in the hedgerow
My heart feels the joy of this beautiful day.

The sycamore seeds through the air gently falling
And as I walk on I catch one in my hand,
I'll keep it forever for it shall remind me
The day that I came to this wonderful land.
