Terrell Poem by Craig Mize

Terrell

Rating: 5.0

To hold you in my arms when you were just born
To be able to watch you open your eyes
To be able to hear your first cry
I wish that it was me
I wish that I was there with you

To be able to see your first step
To be able to hear your first words
To be able to watch you play with your first toy
I wish that it was me
I wish that I was there with you

To be able to see you catch your first ball
To be able to see you learn how to tie your shoes
To be able to see you go to your first day of school
I'm glad that it was me
I'm glad that I was there with you

To be able to hold you in my arms
To be able to call you my little man
To be able to tell you that I love you
I'm glad that it is me
I'm glad to be able to be there with you
