That Empty Feeling. Poem by Sandra Feldman

That Empty Feeling.

Rating: 4.5

When you get,
That empty felling
That nothing matters
Much,
Something
Deep within
Has broken
Has also died,
Keeping you
Out of touch,
Making loneliness
More bitter,
Making Life
A silent, crutch!
Then you know
That something's
Really wrong
And broken,
That time will
Never heal,
And it hurts
So very much.

I've felt it too.. as the song goes, 'There is a crack, a crack in everything That's how the light gets in'

Sandra, as sad as your poem is, it is still very much a catharic release for me. My dear friend, my heart goes out to you for your hurt. I sincerely thank you for having the courage to share it with us.

Sadly, one experiences those moments a little more frequently in the retirement years. I can't emphasize enough how much 'my second family at Poem Hunter' has been a cathartic body of support.
