The Aesthetic Faculties Of An American Icon Poem by Ted Sheridan

The Aesthetic Faculties Of An American Icon

Rating: 5.0

I was taking a nap today around two
It was very hot but....I'd found some cool mud
And so I laid my hambones down with the other hogs.....
Made me feel thinner....
To lay there spread eagle with balls to the sky next to them
I felt like a pig in Hog Heaven...Like a true Harley Hog
A real symbol of America and its freedom.....
In all its glory and decadence......
I was taking a nap today around two
When I had this dream about some fresh homegrown pimentos and Velveeta ®___

This is certainly a crazy piece of abandoned inspiration with ham and loins and bristles to burn. Love the velveeta touch - hate velveeta! Great fun. love, Allie xxxx

Hmmm....be wary of pig pens and velveeta...only filth, constipation...and very high cholesterol (oh yes, and great looking skin in your old age) will come of them. Hilarious, Ted...not one of your more artistic pieces, but I get your drift...that's why I'm staying upwind!

The afternoon nap is known politely as VTO, veterans time out. All dreams are the exclusive property of Veterans Affairs regardless of how original or whatever symbolism is entailed. Pimentos and velveeta are trademark and copyright restricted.... Rgds, Ivan

Mud, hogs, and velveeta. Now, you know, there's poetry...and then there's poetry with a twist...twisted? Twister? What a tornado! Oh yeah, I can see the connections made...with steel cable. Too funny! Should be more funny poetry. Anyone who likes to laugh, read this one! xxxElysabeth
