nourish the plant as a chef
the sun would provide

This poem is still a senryu, samanyan, as any reference to man eliminates it from being a haiku poem. Your rephrasing of the original version is not quite what I suggested, but this new version makes the same point with the exception of the human term 'chef.' Carl.
