The Cliffs Of Dover Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The Cliffs Of Dover

Rating: 5.0

Upon the cliffs of Dover
I thought of those words Mr. Arnold wrote
As the salty gale drives the tears you brought
I taste them as they land on my lips
Leaving me thirsty
With my mouth too dry to produce anything
I stand alone
Except for a bottle of water
It wasn't enough to quench my thirst
I walk down to beach to wash my face
The sting of the salt burns it
Reminding me of the tears you caused
