The Climber Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

The Climber

Rating: 5.0

Climb up, climb up
The Sun coaxes
Climb up, climb up
The wind whispers
Oh, I am so far from the ground!

My tendrils spreading
From wall to tower
Twisting and turning
Forming a bower
Oh, you can't tell one from the other!

Little blue flowers
Perfectly made
Wink through the leaves
Of soft green jade
Oh, I look like a lovely brocade!

ruta, so i'm starting to read more of your poems and tried this first. like your poem of the day, this poem shows good craft—you use rhyme to good effect without mangling the sense or logic. i like this. i like your identification with the vine and the natural lyricism of it. cool! -glen

A beautiful poem with a soft flow and well crafted. Watching a creeper going up on walls and swinging with wind is so refreshing. Thanks for sharing.
