The Day I Found Out - Poem by Ciearra Everill
The look in my mom's eyes,
As I sat on the floor.
I squeezed my mom's hand,
Because I had no idea what was in store.
'Listen baby I got something to say,
Just hold my hand tight everything will be okay.'
She said 'Now what I'm about to say isn't as bad as it sounds,
But this lump infection is more then profound'
I still didn't get it
I didn't know what to say
Nothing hit me more
Then when the word Cancer came my way
