The dream shall never die
Hope is eternal for dreamers.
My eyes are wet; you were such a great guy
You made mistakes, mishaps, errors
Acknowledged them your way
And defended with zeal the underprivileged.
Some undermined your knowledge
Until they realized that you did not play.
You always kept your promise
And fought for everyone’s civil rights.
Alive you were more than one candle, your lights
Shone and smiled during the entire mass.
What a giant smirk for such a Senator
Who was a vociferous Poet, a great Orator.
Great men and women don’t quit this land
Without leaving their marks on the stand.
A well-earned standing ovation for your candor
Generosity, devoutness and kindness.
Poor and disadvantaged people’s weakness
Became strength and amazing power
Which crushed injustice and discrimination.
Your unselfishness won hearts and medals
Unfortunately, dynamic men and women
Don’t live too long among the petals
And the bees who strike with pain,
Age, cancer, and disease on the senate’s arena.
First-rated players don’t last forever
They sail with the aid of the zephyr
When it’s time to follow the sumptuous Sirena.
We come and we sail; the legacy
Will never go away; the dynasty
Will remain forever, as long as
We can hear the orchestra, the jazz,
The humming of the Negro spirit.
The family is forever united; the fleet
Of the angels welcome you.
My eyes are wet and the nightly dew
Had evaporated to forge new dreams
That will live on in the streams
In the air, with the winds of the sea.
The dynasty will stay on, the legacy
Will not fade away. No one should cry
The hope and the dream shall never die.
P.S. Ted Kennedy was my favorite Senator, bon voyage!
My eyes are wet and the nightly dew Had evaporated to forge new dreams That will live on in the streams In the air, with the winds of the sea. The dynasty will stay on, the legacy Will not fade away. No one should cry The hope and the dream shall never die. This is a great tribute, someone whose dream shall live on....good poem.
beautiful poem..........really the dreams must live on.......... LIKED IT........
Thanks for inviting this poor man to read the Dream, and I can tell you that the Kennedy way of things evoke responsive chords from a lot more people than you think!
I know through reading, it was clear admiration, it was expressed by the lines, and to the believers of good faith-man, it is an honorary address. Nice.
Thank you for this. Teddy was well loved overseas as well as home.
