There is an eagle camera
Stationed high in a tree
The footage that it captures
Is a wonder to see
Two Eagle parents taking
Their turns on the nest
When finally baby eaglets hatch,
The moment is blessed!
The parents fly, and bring back prey
To feed their young charges
And day by day, the eaglets grow
Increasingly larger
The wobbly little babies learn
To stand and to walk,
And they are very vocal- -
You should hear them chirp and talk!
They flex their wings like Dad & Mom
And preen just like them, too
It's fun to watch them grow,
And see the things that they can do.
Day after day, the babes
Are growing larger and stronger,
The day they fledge and leave the nest,
Won't be too much longer.
I watched the Eagle Cam too. Was fascinated to see this live and so close. Your poem recreates simply and with exact motion and devotion the unforgettable and endearing scenes. Congratulations, superb recreation.
It's easy to get addicted to watching the eagles, especially when the babies first hatch. But it's also easy to get addicted to this site, wouldn't you say? Especially when you're in the company of other creative minds, who are also fans of your written works! Luv ya, Sandra!
