When we met
We quickly became each other’s best friends
And clunk onto each other like tree vines
We became accustomed to each other’s jokes and playfulness
I was perhaps, 'Cedric the Entertainer'
And you were, hmmm, let’s see, 'My Queen Latifah! '
You didn’t need any late night TV show to entertain you
You knew when you got home …
I was there to entertain your needs!
You found pleasure in my company
And we could hang out together all day everyday

When we were on the road
One thing remained true
We stayed together happy
Enjoying every moment
With the people we meet
And the language they speak

We are each others support network
You know how to make me laugh
And I know how to rock your boat
You've being so loving and understanding
It’s worked so wonderfully well to be in love with you

When you stayed over
We were free to concentrate on what we had going on
Not worrying about distance, emails or text messages to stay in touch
I hang on to your every word
Much so that when you are gone
I can still hear you

You seat now reading this poetry
Smiling and giggling like I’m tickling you all over
And if tonight, I read this poetry to you again
I will remind you
That you are the girl who adored me back
