The Hermit's Heart Poem by Nosheen Irfan

The Hermit's Heart

Rating: 4.8

He cared not
Of whither we went
Down the even lane
Or up the rocky hill
The way was open
The arms of life spread
In a "welcome" sign
But he closed the door
And shut up inside
Thinking life was a desert
And love a mirage.

Being a hermit, sometimes, is just a way of shutting down people.. Often, I had wondered how they live with alienation from all society.. Maybe it is a noble choice, maybe it is not.. I had always preferred to be a sinner than a saint... A beautiful poem Nosheen.. Philosophical and thought provoking.
