Τhe lies I loved
split and blured my life's unison.
I trusted their assurance,
Olymp's summits accessible were,
Ι didn't reckon distances, inclinations, accounterments
and spurted alone to the heights.
False the feathery tackling of hopes, moulted soon.
Human's plagues surrounded me
and stayed the solace
in my fall's wounds,
as did their truth's traumas I sympathised.
My eyes having shared sorrow's bitter tears
liberated were from their own blur.
Fearing myself's division
I sent my farerwell to the deserts of Narcissus
and dropped anchor in the fields of sympathy
where the horizon shines redemptory.
We reach the heights and notice the fallen trends. Nicely brought out in your poem.
As it always happens. You see, dearTirupathi, one learns better from his own faults.
That ''blur'' the blindness of ancient greeks is unfortunatelly the means through which we learn, having first found our punishment. Thanks a lot, dear Edward.
Yes, egotism is a uniquely human trait that seperates us from our brothers and reduces that which we truly are
There is no way out of it, as it seems. But in a world of sufferings should we not be taught from small children to be helpful to others, to sympasize practical ther sufferings? Thank you, dearKelly for your Kindness.
Arrogance, false hopes, narcissism lead us to the split of our soul, to think that we can live only for the interests of our own privacy. So we loose the unity with the rest society arround us which alienate us from our essence of human being.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
Deserts of Narcissus versus Fields of Sympathy - a dramatic pair of metaphors that are polar opposites. By its very nature, sympathy opens us, the closed rooms of the self are accessible to neighbors and saints. This the true community united by love and respect, not joined by expediancy.
The only one I would very much you to read is the '' As on Anhydrous dry land'' This is to be compared with that of Cavafis 'An old man'..When I wrote mine I had not in mind that of Cavafis.A friend of mine reminded me of it.I must confess that my verses have something of Cavafiw styl. But I think they are a step bejond them, better or worse I do no.
