The New Addiction Poem by Abderrahmane Dakir

The New Addiction

Rating: 5.0

I'm hopeless against my addiction,
How hard I tried to get my satisfaction.

I feel I must be missing something,
But, I receive too much of nothing.

Once I listen to the new notification on my screen,
A wave of excitement rushes over me so clean.

What I see keep me distracted,
But, my free time is destroyed.

The most people have sent me messages at any time,
How can I focus on working or have I my own time.

I no longer stay on top of messages deliberately.
Since it causes a drop in productivity.

I have restricted messages during my work hours,
To prevent burnout and take care of my ears.
