The Pang In My Heart Poem by Abderrahmane Dakir

The Pang In My Heart

All this happened between sunrise and sunset.
When I felt a pang in my heart.

They told me about your accident.
They convinced me about the death.

I can't take it, so I wept.
I told nothing because I have faith.

I can't believe it yet.
I have never expected it.
I wasn't be prepared for that.
No my will, not my spirit.

Between my memories, you keep the happiest.
Whatever in the past or in the present.

The loss of my loved one is so difficult.
My patience would be different.

The disbelief we feel when we hear a loved one has died is so vividly portrayed here. The disbelief continues too for quite some time. It is hard to wake up to a new day and remember they are not there in that new day. Our loved one has joined the past. Well done, Mr. Dakir
