The Sunshine Hits The Gravestone (Fr. Aida Azzopardi) Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The Sunshine Hits The Gravestone (Fr. Aida Azzopardi)

Rating: 5.0

This Mother's day, I won't have you
To buy lunch at our favorite restaurant
I won't have you to buy a cozy nightgown
Or make breakfast with coffee especially
I hope to see you with Dad
On a beautiful Sunday with flowers
That won't wilt before summer
As the sunshine hits the gravestone
The days will be longer to visit
But if I could turn back time,
I would hold you tight and tell you
A million times over that you're
Irreplaceable and I love you
Like I tried before
And I regret that I failed to do so
In the end
