I am a leaf
that's drying out
and getting brittle.
But what to do
but set myself
for this—
to be a leaf
that hangs
through harshest winds
until there comes
the dawn
with its warm light
that signals
it is time
for letting go.
Lovely poem, Glen. As beautiful as an autumn leaf. No, letting go is really not easy, “for he has put eternity into our hearts.” But letting go along with hope - ah, there’s the thing!
Hey, Laurie! Happy new year. Good to see your comment—thank you. I made it to midnight last night—a very rare occurence—and have risen to a cold and windy morning, snow on the ground and more to come. Blessing your way! -Glen

A meaningful poem on life's transitoriness. That takes birth must die. 'until there comes the dawn with its warm light that signals it is time for letting go. '...signals the end. Thanks for sharing.
