The Wolves Within
Rating: ★4.6
We sit alone prepared to feast
no thought to who partakes,
ignoring battles fought within
creating more heartaches
And yet ‘alone', we never are.
Inside us battles roar.
Two wolves competing for our will
each enemies at war
Both strong and fierce with awesome might
Yet more diverse are they.
One wolf will whisper how you've failed
To make your critics pay
He stirs the anger kept within,
adds greed and envy to the pot.
Self pity and some arrogance
resentments not to be forgot
The other wolf is joy and faith,
compassion, love and peace
Benevolence and empathy,
goodwill that will not cease
Both hungry beasts await your will.
Decide which wolf you need.
For you alone dictates who dies
The one you chose… you feed.
