There Till The End - Poem by joseph freeman
Warmed a pew for 20 years
filled with many doubts & fears,
never knowing what life was about,
trapped in a snare I couldn't get out.
Then a light began to shine
deep within this heart of mine;
revealing not only what was wrong with me
but also revealing what I could be.
God looked beyond what people see,
what many people thought of me,
to see the real me deep inside,
the person I so often hide;
encouraging me to let him out
to reveal what I'm really all about.
With His help I've since become
a man who's known as 'friend' by some,
a man who's always near @ hand
when you find your feet in shifting sand,
reaching out a hand to you
to hold you up, to walk you through,
the trials that often come your way
with the starting of a brand new day.
I hope you know I'll still be there
when you can't find a friend anywhere,
to comfort you, to hold your hand,
to walk with you to the promised land.
When death comes knocking @ your door
& you leave this world to return no more
A cherished friend will be waiting for you
to do what I can no longer do.
His name is Jesus
