Thoughts -3 Delirious & Depressing Thoughts - Poem by Dr. Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

When my mind races like a speeding train,
Gliding over hills and dales,
Climbing up the tall coconut trees,
Fluttering around like a restless butterfly,
Gushing down like a water fall,
Swimming in the stormy seas,
Running in pursuit of material delight,
Demanding thoughts occur

When my mind enters into a dark mode
Dwelling on frivolous matters,
Making a list of all the things
That I do not possess or
Of what I have not achieved;
Forgetting to count the blessings
Bestowed on me,
The thoughts turn bitter

Verily, you have depicted all the traits of thoughts in a beautiful flow of words as envisioned,

When I allow the beauty of the moment, especially in nature, My mind calms and nothing but that bliss exists. Excellent poem, Geeta (Report) Reply

Good poem in free style, and you took care that it would not read like prose or a so called prose poem which I do not like to use this phrase. I think that there is no such thing as a prose poem. It is poetry or it is not.

Here we have you mind in different situations or states all well explained poetically. I like this try. It has wonderful moments.

    Keep on writing!
