To Fake A Blush Poem by Mihaela Pirjol

To Fake A Blush

Rating: 5.0

to brush away
the memory of you...
as I blush my cheeks in the mirror:

brushing away
the authentic yesterday,
when ruby cheeks
blushed before your gaze:

to defy the image in the mirror
with a simple brushstroke,

till the makeup,
makes me look in love again:
this time, —
with the timid girl
I used to be...

A prototype perception, so sensitive to show true life's memories.

I am glad this is the first poem of yours that I have read. No matter what happens, it made me a dyed-in-the-wool fan of yours! ! ! That title roped me in! Then line by line it absolutely captivated me. Then I read it again and again and it charmed me as much the fifth time as the first time. This woman- and the shy timid girl she used to be- sitting before her mirror.... they are branded into my mind. And I smile tenderly at them and wish them well in their journey through life.. 10++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ and onto my fav list

Beautifully written with the sadness of a love departed you put on a fake blush to fall in love with the timid girl you used to be. To fall in love with who we are is a journey of acceptance, courage and forgiveness and the journey is well worth taking it always leads back to ourselves!
