To Whom This My Concern - Poem by danielle jones

When the world forgets you
When the people you love abandon you
When no one protects you
When you meet your fears
Where do you go?
Who do you turn to?
To be dying inside but not let it show
To hide the tears behind a fake smile, you've got no clue

The taste of my blood
So sweet and pure
An acquired taste
Of that I'm sure
Long silvery blade
Gleaming in the light
A dark weapon in the shade
Black surrounding, a perfect night

I run my finger along the edge
I admire the knife as I pledge
It is my one and only friend
It symbolises the end
It is my savour
And it'll do me this one favour
I run it on my wrist slowly
Blood trickles down smoothly
I lick it away, savouring the taste
All the blood I was to spill, what a waste

When you have no reason
To go on living each season
As the people pass you by
Not caring as you cry
And the only way for you to feel
Is to grab some stainless steel
To watch it kiss you coldly
And sigh in satisfaction as the blood runs boldly
Loving the feel of pain
And knowing you're not the same
As the people who left you behind
Wishing that maybe one will be kind
And help you out
Only to live in doubt

I write out my very last words
On a plain sheet
My writing so bleak
Full of the things I can't speak
My breathing becoming weak
I write to my family, my friends and foes
I write it like this it goes:

To whom it may concern
This is my final goodbye
I hope you don’t turn
And start to cry
Because I do not regret
Any of my actions tonight
Do not be upset
'Cause this is right
Finally I am free
Of your accusations
And your hatred of me
We didn’t have many conversations
You mainly just yelled
While I stood there
Unknowingly you killed
Me inside, I do not care
To you I say
Now that I'm gone
That each and every day
My soul was torn and torn
Slowly I died inside
Left an empty shell
And happily I've died
I hope you go to hell

To be excluded from everyone
Secretly cursing the shining sun
That was held so high
And gleamed happily in the sky
To want to slit your throat
And write a suicide note
To hold on hoping
That someone will help you coping
To lose your faith
And be as solemn as a wraith
No longer wanting to be the kid
That they tease about what they did
Or about whom you are
Calling you names, 'Oi emo! '
To be look down upon, to be bizarre
To be beaten and abused, how low

I say my last goodbye
'Goodbye cruel world'
The blood washes away the lie
And I fall, my body oddly curled
Peace finally meets me
In the depths of my mind
And now finally I see
The life I leave behind
I wish to go back
Maybe murder a few
I can't go back
Not now, after what I've been through
The blade rests securely in my hands
And now I know no one understands
Of what I've chosen to do
To take my life away
If you had my life, you'd do it to
I feel life now, dead I lay
Upon my bedroom floor
In a pool of blood and more
For when I left I took with me
The favourite sister, in serenity
A twisted smiled played on my face
Dead I lay, shining with a stunning deathly grace.
