Tonight Poem by Amanda Lukas

Tonight

Rating: 5.0

When the night falls over us
like a blanket of peace
and the sky's eyes twinkle with delight
and the warmth of your arms
wraps me with comfort,
I can close my eyes to breathe.

When the raindrops fall to the ground
as Mother Nature's sweet lullaby
and the fire crackles in fury
with each gust of wind that blows by
and the city's noises fall quiet,
and it's lights all are dimmed,
you will find me at peace with the world
and the fighting and the stress.
You will find me safe and calm and quiet.

But most importantly,
you will find me with you.

The soul in a happy mood wrapped by warmth of love. Tonight the sky is different with new twinkling stars and the lonely heart always expects the integrity? Amanda it seems tangible tonight!

there is peace in this poem, a celebration of contentment, night usually reflects fear and terror but you have spread your light over the dark and a settled effect is found. i like this poem because its honest and human, when love is found or realised the outside world oftens brightens in colour. best wishes Vincent
