Train Poem by Vidyadhar Durgekar

Train

Rating: 5.0

Thak thak thak thak moving train,
Starting journey from chennai main,
With dreams full now and then,
Attending interview all in vain,
Railway will take us free all the same;

Buying ticket standing in a que,
Maybe hours without making hue,
Counter closes with lunch time due,
Waiting watching time passes through,
Fumbling behind was the counter guy,
On asking we find the guy is new;

Even when we arrive before time,
Bogie full of young, of age prime,
Holiday Journey starts with standing,
Like the bats with their legs hanging,
Dangling with the grip and leaning;

Now and then falling with a jerk,
Ha! Ha! Ha! Others laugh and take it as joke,
Not bothering to know why is it so?
To ease the rush first class ticket I buy;
To my dismay it is full of railway guys,

Love it! Even those who fly first class and pay all the extra money don't arrive any sooner. They just get to smile first at the flight attendants as they head to the next 'ticket' window. Karin
