Patrolling the streets every night and day
Protecting our livelihood come whatever may
Flying an airplane or even riding in a boat
Throwing a life jacket to keep someone afloat
Sirens can be heard ringing loud and clear
Everybody knows that a fire is burning near
Climbing a ladder to put out the fiery flames
Searching the buildings and calling out names
Responding to calls with all of your might
Walkie Talkies never leaving your sight
Safeguarding our homes and our loved ones too
All hail to the brave men and women in blue
Tireless and unwavering in all that you do
Worthy of your calling and lots of honor too
Leaving your loved ones in the time of trouble
When disaster strikes sifting through the rubble
To all the great men and women in blue
Words can never express our love for you
So very tried and true many thanks to all
Responding to our needs and to our every call

Good poem, thank you for share! Yes indeed those who save other people by walking their life on death grunds must need great love to go on. I suppose it feels good when they can save or help, but the horrors of what their eyes have seen the otherwise must be very shaky, maybe hardest thing to cope with. I am also sending my love in the direction of the men and women who save and help the lives of others. Thank you for reminding me.
