True Love Will Last Poem by Joseph Anderson

True Love Will Last

Rating: 4.9

We stole each others heart away
with hope, with dreams and care;
E'er knowing love would pave the way
for blissful times we'd share.

So oft we trod those peaceful hills,
when love was sweet and new.
'Twas there that passion lit the spark,
from whence our family grew.

Then death made claim that fated day,
amidst the tears we cried
and now, my dear, I see so clear
our love has never died.

Too soon in time I'll follow you
across that great divide;
Together now, forevermore,
together, side by side.

Dear Joseph This poem is so touching, so beautiful and exquisite. I love each iine and I read the poem again a few times. Each time it gave that warm feeling of true love, that lasts well over the great divide. the rhymes are smooth and very nice, making it superbly melodious and poetic. Excellent poem.

This poem sums up in simple words how the spark of love originated and was kindled into a bright flame through a life time until one was snatched away untimely through death. But the love continues cutting across the great divide. You hope to join your beloved once when you receive the summons of death! The force of sentiments of true love articulated here and its smooth flow make this poem outstanding!
